Wow

Well, what can I say about this piece that I haven't said already. You already know what I think about it.
It's amazing and even more amazing when you told me how you made it. You did a good job editing the vocals too. The only thing I would change and this is just nitpicking is the deep bells. Not a huge fan of them. Can wait to hear what you come up with for that piece I sent you...

MaestroRage responds:

Thanks Slayer, i'm glad you liked the piece, like you said when you build a song vocals up there is a lot of restrictions placed upon you. Thankfully LadyArsenic's voice was easily workable into the ideas I wanted to portray through this piece.

I should have gone bell sfx hunting, the bells I used here I had found a year ago, I personally kind of like them, adds that foreboding feeling I wanted to give the piece. I could have done it with a heavily reverbed kick or timpini, but those were too low on the frequency scale to make audible without destroying every other instruments!

In any case, thanks for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

man, that's some great druming programing.

and the guitar playing is top notch too. Very professional sounding. Too bad some of the people on newgrounds don't know talent when they see it. Again, that's some amazing drum programing...

Very Interesting.

Very different from your other stuff but it's a good change.

At first if sounds almost like you used a bit of delay on the piano but I don't think you did. Parts of it sound a bit unusual and I can't quite put my finger on why. Which is bugging me. Maybe it's the chaotic feeling I get from it. I'm not sure.

Very unique melody and an interesting change from your other pieces...

MaestroRage responds:

I can't believe I haven't responded to this! My apologize Killer, I did not mean insult (to those reading I responded to this Jan 7th 2007, 5 days after review left), which is quite unacceptable. Again I apologize ^^.

The piano did actually have delay, a healthy dosage of it. The very fast notes and many layers allowed the muddle of the delay sounds to be buried below it while still giving it the feeling I wanted at the beginning.

I think I know what you mean by parts of it being unusual, though I could be wrong, the song was not intended to be held in normal borders ;).

Thank you for the review Killer, i'm glad you liked the piece ^^.

Hey

I've been away for a while but I'm back to review your newest tune. I like it a lot. The drums sound amazing to me. I can hear a metal influence in them like some of the other reviewers were saying as well as some jazz. It's some of your best drum work if you ask me.

This track sounds really great... I'm really impressed by it.

Now I've got some other tunes to listen to and review.

The female vocal samples are really well used as well. Keep it up and you'll be on your way to being really amazing.

MaestroRage responds:

I also spent the most time on them. Some people pointed out that it doesn't quite... work with the melody. I can see where they are coming from, but I personally thought the jazz/metal influenced percussion would add to that whole "game" feel, something to keep the listeners moderately entertained.

Thank you Killer, i'm glad you dropped by, it has been too long since we last talked hasn't it? I hope to see you online again sometime soon ^^.

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked the piece.

Not bad.

I would have liked to hear more progression in the strings but definitly not bad. I could see this being used in a few flashs. It's nice relaxing music.

itsameyayo responds:

Isn't meant to be a super strings thing, but whatev : D

-Thanks MUCH!

Hey man, where you been?

Haven't seen you online in a while. Anyway, I have to agree with darkside. It's good but this isn't one of your strongest pieces. I like the female choir. It sounds good and I like the snare but it doesn't quite have the epic feel alot of your other pieces have. The break down at the end is good but overall it doesn't build to the overwhelming intensity like alot of your other pieces do... But by no means is it bad but I'm not sure I like the techno bass drum tho, That's just more personal preference than anything tho. Hope you don't mind mind my honest review...

MaestroRage responds:

It's true, this isn't one of my better pieces, but it was a necessary piece to break out of my habit a little, you know, get some experience doing something different! In fact if I didn't make this song I would never have gotten acquinted with the power held from the trumpet, bassoon, both spiccato and legato (I didn't really know they existed either XD)

I purposely tried to keep away from epic, but even though I tried it still has traces of epic.

Believe it or not that was my best kick XD. I always use either timpini, melodic toms, or snares, t'was time for some kickage >:)

In any case, by no means do I find your honest review hurtful or unwanted. I welcome any and all thoughts, thank you for your honesty, for the review, and i'm also glad you liked it!

I'll try to be online more often, for the next week though I may not be, as finals are coming up!

Hmm... Nice.

Great track. I have to say tho that the guitar is alittle too tinny sounding for my liking like I've said before... but a great track none the less. Nice riffs and some pretty decent growling. I especially like the talking. Sounds very creepy...

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Haha man...I HAVEN'T seen you forever! Great to see you out and about!! Hope we get to catch up on messenger soon.
Thanks for the cool review, my friend!\m/

Awsome.

This is one of my favorite songs by you. It's got some very cool riffs. Very 80 like. Great time changes... Yeah, man this is my probably my favorite from you. I might suggest cleaning it up a bit in the begining tho if I were to change anything but this is a fucking great song without a doubt.

I love it.

This song is great. I've been trying to figure it out on guitar. So far I've just figured out parts of the solos. Can I add you to MSN? Great fucking tune.

Cool.

Sounds like Slayer and Tool had a baby but those are two great bands so it's not a bad thing.

5/5

Demon-Slayer12 responds:

Thanks dude.
